Joe Higgins

Question:

80 Mr. Higgins (Dublin West) asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands if she will supply Deputy Joe Higgins (Dublin West) with a copy of the recognition order for the Glen of the Downs as a nature reserve under the Wildlife Act, 1976. [2963/98]

Tógfaidh mé Ceisteanna Uimh. 79 agus Uimh. 80 le chéile.

The lands comprising the Glen of the Downs Nature Reserve were designated by an Establishment Order under section 15 of the Wildlife Act, 1976 (S. I. No. 178 of 1980), a copy of which was supplied to the Deputy in accordance with my reply to his Parliamentary Question No. 335 of 12 November 1997. There is no recognition order for the Glen of the Downs Nature Reserve.

As this matter is before the courts at present, any further comment by me would be inappropriate.
