Vol. 487 No. 1

Written Answers. - National Lottery Funding.

Brendan Howlin

Question:

33 Mr. Howlin asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation the total value of grants from lottery funds to sporting organisations in 1997; if all these allocations have been taken up; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3309/98]

Non-capital grant payments to sporting organisations last year amounted to over £5.8 million while grants paid to clubs and organisations under the capital programme on completion of approved projects amounted to £4.92 million. At the end of 1997, a further £15.7 million capital commitments remained outstanding towards projects still in the course of development, and these grants will be paid as soon as projects are completed in accordance with the terms and conditions attaching to the programme.
