98 Mr. M. Kitt asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will sanction funding for the re-furbishment of the medical records department of Portiuncla Hospital, Ballinasloe; the amount of money to be provided; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3469/98]

A proposal for the refurbishment of the medical records department at Portiuncula Hospital has been received in my Department. This proposal is under consideration in the context of many competing demands for funding under the three year capital development programme recently agreed for my Department.
