Vol. 487 No. 1

Written Answers. - Nursing Home Subventions.

Seán Barrett

Question:

103 Mr. Barrett asked the Minister for Health and Children the current income limits applicable in order to qualify for a nursing home subvention in the Eastern Health Board area. [3524/98]

Applications for nursing home subventions to the Eastern Health Board are dealt with in accordance with provisions of the Health (Nursing Homes) Act, 1990 and the Nursing Homes (Subvention) Regulations, 1993. When considering an application for subvention, a full assessment of the applicant's means and circumstances is undertaken by the board. Conditions governing the assessment of means and circumstances are set out in the 1993 regulations, a copy of which I will forward to the Deputy.
