Question:

25 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation when he will be in a position to implement a drugs testing programme for sport in Ireland, in view of the recent drug related scandals at the World Swimming Championships. [3538/98]

I am currently examining proposals recently made to me in this regard by the Irish Sports Council Anti-Doping Advisory Committee and I hope to be in a position to respond by way of an announcement shortly.
