Question:

127 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation if he will provide a grant under the Department of Education's recreational facilities scheme to build an assembly hall at a school (details supplied) in County Waterford; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3515/98]

The school applied for a grant under the sports capital programme in January 1998. No decisions have yet been made on when moneys will be allocated under the sports capital programme in 1998.

Question:

130 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Education and Science when approval will be given to the commencement of design work for the construction of a new secondary school arising from the amalgamation of the Convent of Mercy, Ferrybank, Waterford and Slieverue vocational school, County Kilkenny; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3474/98]

The appointment of a design team to undertake the architectural planning of the new community school for Ferrybank, Waterford has now been finalised and it is intended to commence the initial design work immediately.
