Written Answers - Psychiatric Services.

Phil Hogan

Question:

184 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Health and Children when capital finance was allocated for the provision of an acute psychiatric unit at St. Luke's hospital, Kilkenny. [4569/98]

The South-Eastern Health Board has submitted a report to my Department on the tenders for the provision of an acute psychiatric unit at St. Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny. The timing of the acceptance of tenders and the commencement of construction is currently being considered in the context of the health capital programme for 1998. It is not posssible at this stage to give a precise timetable for the project.
