Vol. 487 No. 6

Written Answers - Animal Feedstuffs.

Seamus Kirk

Question:

150 Mr. Kirk asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will outline the monitoring arrangements for the importation of feedstuffs into the Republic of Ireland from Northern Ireland; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4704/98]

Animal feedingstuffs are subject to harmonised EU legislation and feedingstuffs imported from Northern Ireland are monitored in the same way as those manufactured domestically to ensure compliance with this legislation. The monitoring includes the analysis of samples taken at retail and other premises.
