Vol. 487 No. 7

Sexual Offenders Registration Bill, 1998: First Stage.

I move:

That leave be granted to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to require the notification of information to the Garda Síochána by persons who have committed certain sexual offences against children and to make similar provision with respect to the commission of certain sexual acts involving children outside the Republic of Ireland and for connected purposes.

Is the Bill opposed?

Question put and agreed to.

Since this is a Private Members' Bill, Second Stage must under Standing Orders be taken in Private Members' time.

I move: "That the Bill be taken in Private Members' time."

Question put and agreed to.
