62 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the total expenditure on eradication programmes for bovine TB and brucellosis for each of the years from 1992-97; if he will give a breakdown of this expenditure and evaluate the fundings of eradication programmes; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Expenditure on brucellosis is generally estimated at one sixth of the total running costs of the schemes over the last seven years. However, expenditure on the brucellosis scheme was higher in 1996 and 1997 because of increased testing and compensation requirements.
