Question:

65 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if his Department will accept a late application under the 1998 ewe premium scheme from a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny who was hospitalised and was unable to apply prior to the closing date. [5372/98]

If the person named submits documentary evidence to the local office of the Department at Hebron Road, Kilkenny, regarding the period of his hospitalisation, a decision will be made based on that evidence regarding the acceptance of his 1998 application.

John Ellis

Question:

66 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when his Department will pay headage and suckler grants to a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim. [5380/98]

The person named will be paid all outstanding 1996 and 1997 suckler cow premium and 1997 cattle headage grants within the next two weeks.

Question:

67 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive his 40 per cent payment of his 1997 suckler cow grants and the remainder of his beef premiums. [5381/98]

The person named has been paid £897.48 on 19 February 1998 representing the 40 per cent balancing payment in respect of 16 suckler cows.

The person concerned applied for the ten month premium in January 1997 and in September 1997 for five animals and four animals respectively. Payment of 60 per cent advance issued for the January application in November 1997 and payment of 60 per cent advance issued in two different instalments on 16 December 1997 and 5 February 1998 in respect of the September 1997 application. The balancing payments for both beef premium applications will issue AprilMay period.
