Vol. 487 No. 8

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Ivan Yates

Question:

76 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason an application for a motorised transport grant to the South-Eastern Health Board for a person (details supplied) in County Wexford has taken so long to process on appeal; the reason a decision has not been made on a medical examination that took place several months ago; and when a decision will be given on this application. [5330/98]

The assessment of entitlement to a motorised transport grant in any individual case is a matter for the relevant health board. Accordingly, the Deputy's question has been referred to the chief executive officer, South-Eastern Health Board. I understand that the board is carrying out a further review of this case and will reply directly to the Deputy in due course.
