Vol. 487 No. 8

Written Answers. - Health Surveys.

Bernard Allen

Question:

78 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will carry out a health survey on Little Island, County Cork in view of the commitment that a survey would be carried out; and, if so, when he proposes to initiate that survey. [5332/98]

I am advised by the Southern Health Board that it is carrying out a health surveillance programme covering all of Cork and Kerry. The programme will be ongoing and will help establish baseline human health information on the population in the area. The programme is being co-ordinated by the board's department of public health.
