92 Mr. Higgins (Dublin West) asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the amount of grant aid awarded to environmental non-governmental organisations for research purposes, not including that for the environmental partnership scheme. [5391/98]

My Department does not normally directly grant aid environmental research. The administration of the research and development sub-programme of the Operational Programme for Environmental Services is the responsibility of the Environmental Protection Agency.
