Written Answers. - Monaghan Bomb Explosion.

John Bruton

Question:

179 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the representations, if any, he has received from Sinn Féin regarding the responsibility for a 30 pound bomb placed outside the Monaghan office of Sinn Féin some time ago; the forensic evidence, if any, that exists to attribute responsibility for this bomb; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6007/98]

Question:

180 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the representations, if any, he has received from Sinn Féin regarding the death of a person (details supplied) a year ago; and if he will make a statement on responsibility for this killing. [6008/98]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 179 and 180 together.

I believe that disclosure as to whether any individual or group has or has not made contact on a security related matter of this kind would be a matter for the individual or party concerned and that it would not be for the Minister to make such disclosure.
