198 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Education and Science the progress, if any, made towards the provision of a new school (details supplied) in County Carlow in respect of which a submission has been made and there is ongoing correspondence with his Department over the last number of years. [5977/98]
The management of the school referred to by the Deputy has applied to my Department for grant assistance towards the cost of providing a new school building.
My Department's planning and building unit is currently examining reports on both the long-term educational requirements in the area and the condition of the existing school building. When this examination is completed, my Department will contact the school manager about the matter.
