Vol. 488 No. 2

Written Answers. - Maternity and Infant Care Scheme.

Jack Wall

Question:

72 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Health and Children the proposals, if any, there are in relation to the mother and child scheme with specific reference to the serious concerns about the scheme expressed by the Irish Medical Organisation. [5805/98]

There is agreement with the Irish Medical Organisation on the restructuring of the maternity and infant care scheme. What remains to be discussed is a fee for the revised scheme. While there have been difficulties in arranging a meeting to commence discussions on this issue, a meeting between the parties concerned has been arranged for next week.
