Vol. 488 No. 2

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

John Perry

Question:

108 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Sligo will receive his REP scheme payment in view of the fact that his land has been inspected and passed. [5844/98]

A second year payment of £1,090.52 was issued to this applicant last week.

P. J. Sheehan

Question:

109 Mr. Sheehan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Cork will have his area aid file digitised and payment of his cattle headage grant made to him, in view of the fact it is now long overdue. [5845/98]

Before cattle headage payments can issue to the person named the forage area declared by the person concerned must be validated by the land parcel identification system. In order for this validation to take place, I have arranged for townland maps to issue to him from my Department. As soon as these maps are returned with the boundaries of his holding outlined, the area will be closed on the land parcel identification system and the remaining payments can then issue.

Trevor Sargent

Question:

110 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if the records of his Department show that a local authority notice, under section 12 of the Local Government (Water Pollution) Acts, 1977 and 1990, prescribing hay, silage or feeding of cattle within a radius of 50 metres of the bored well to the south west of developments (details supplied), was in force for a number of years prior to his Department approving grant assistance for the development under the control of farmyard pollution scheme. [5992/98]

Trevor Sargent

Question:

111 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if records of his Department show that his predecessor or his Department rejected an earlier approved application for, or refused to authorise payment of, a grant under the control of farmyard pollution scheme to a person (details supplied) in County Sligo. [5994/98]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 110 and 111 together.

My Department's records show no evidence of a section 12 notice under the Local Government (Water Pollution) Acts 1977 and 1990 being served on the applicant in this case. Payment of the grant was not authorised in April 1996 when it was found that the building exceeded the area approved. The grant aid was subsequently paid when confirmation of planning permission for the altered structure was received.

Ivan Yates

Question:

112 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a person (details supplied) in County Wexford is being refused the agricultural installation aid premium; and the criteria in relation to this decision regarding this person, who was on a weekly wage in a family farm situation but would not have full employment or payslip records in this regard. [5995/98]

The applicant in this case is ineligible for installation aid as he was set up as a tenant in common on the farm with an ineligible person over 35 years of age.
