Written Answers - School Recognition.

Richard Bruton

Question:

106 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Education and Science if his attention has been drawn to the proposals for the all-Irish secondary school to be established in temporary buildings adjoining Scoil Neasain, Artane, Dublin 5 to commence in the school year 1998-9; and if he will make a decision on this application so that they can proceed to obtain the requisite planning permission and confirm enrolments with parents who need to finalise arrangements for their children. [6029/98]

I am aware of the proposals for the establishment of an all-Irish second level school on the north eastern side of Dublin.

A review of the need for such a facility in that area has been completed by the planning section of my Department and a report in the matter will be available to me very shortly. When I have fully considered the findings of the review, I will make a decision on the matter without undue delay.
