Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Clune — the concern regarding the effectiveness of the childhood immunisation programme as now administered by general practitioners; (2) Deputy Neville — the need to provide 31 residential places and 42 day places to meet the requirements of the mentally handicapped in the mid-west region; (3) Deputy Creed — the need for urgent improvements and an extension to Aghinagh national school, County Cork; (4) Deputy Broughan — the urgent need to complete the employee share ownership arrangements in Telecom Éireann given the Taoiseach's written commitment of May 1997; (5) Deputy Shatter — the need to sanction the CPOs for the construction of the Dundrum bypass and the works required to redesign the Ballinteer Road in south Dublin; (6) Deputy Coveney — the need to take action regarding the disastrous prices being obtained for lamb, the difficult market situation, the reduced ewe premium, the problem of Northern Ireland lamb imports and the steep fall in the incomes of sheep farmers; (7) Deputy Gilmore — the inclusion of an age bar in some public sector job advertisements while legislation is before the Oireachtas to eliminate employment discrimination on grounds of age.

The matters raised by Deputies Broughan, Coveney, Clune and Creed have been selected for debate.
