Vol. 488 No. 3

Written Answers - Family Support Services.

Dan Neville

Question:

74 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Health and Children if each of the health board areas have a development officer with sole responsibility for developing services for families. [6021/98]

There is a statutory responsibility on the health boards to provide family support services under the Child Care Act, 1991. The position on the appointment of child care managers in each of the health boards was outlined in my reply to a parliamentary question from the Deputy on 3 March 1998. These individuals will also have responsibility for the development of family support services.
