Vol. 488 No. 3

Written Answers - Driving Licences.

Pat Carey

Question:

81 Mr. P. Carey asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if a person (details supplied) in Dublin 11 will be issued with a full driving licence; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6035/98]

Under the terms of the Road Traffic Licensing of Drivers Regulations, 1989, this person would have had two years following the issuing of her certificate of competency on 9 February 1996 in which to submit that certificate to the licensing authority in support of an application for a full driving licence. I regret it is not now possible to rectify the expiry of the certificate of competency. My Department will, however, arrange for an early driving test for the person if she submits a further application.
