Vol. 488 No. 3

Written Answers - Liquor Licensing Laws.

Nora Owen

Question:

104 Mrs. Owen asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the proposals, if any, he has regarding proposed changes in the application of the licensing laws, in view of the fear being expressed by responsible traders that radical change in the application of the licensing laws may result in a large increase in the amount of outlets, such as corner shops and petrol stations, becoming off-licences. [6053/98]

I have no plans at present to amend the liqour licensing laws in relation to the granting of licences for off-licences and I am not aware of any proposals for changes to those laws in that respect.
