Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Creed — the urgent need for a review of planning legislation to provide for a coherent regulation of retail shopping developments in the vicinity of large urban centres; (2) Deputy McGennis — the up-to-date position regarding the provision of independent counsel to represent rape victims at criminal trials, the legislative or other changes necessary to implement this measure, and the probable timescale; (3) Deputy Shatter — the need to sanction the compulsory purchase orders for the construction of the Dundrum bypass and the works required to redesign Ballinteer Road in south Dublin; (4) Deputy Coughlan — the need to provide funding for the Ardara sewerage scheme, County Donegal; (5) Deputy Yates — the role the Minister for Agriculture and Food had in the choice of location by the Coca Cola multinational company for its bottling plant and the consideration given to selecting County Wexford as a location for this project; (6) Deputy Browne (Wexford)— the high unemployment rate in Enniscorthy, County Wexford; (7) Deputy McGinley — the urgent need to have remedial teachers appointed to primary schools in Donegal, particularly in the Dunfanaghy/Creeslough and Logley, Ballintra and Pettigo areas; and (8) Deputy Deenihan — the approval of two additional classrooms for Scoil Naomh Padraig Measc, Cathair Leithin, Traigh-Lí, in view of the fact that work is in progress on an extension to the school.

The matters raised by Deputies Shatter, Coughlan, McGinley and Deenihan have been selected for discussion.
