Question:

95 Mrs. B. Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs the number of people over 66 years of age who are in receipt of a carer's allowance. [6561/98]

At the end of December 1997 there were a total of 10,196 recipients of the carer's allowance. Of these 788 or 8 per cent were aged 66 years or over.
