97 Mr. Hayes asked the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs if he has received an application from the Family Resource Centre, Killinarden, Tallaght, Dublin 24, for funding under the family and community services resource centre programme; if so, the position of this application; when he will be in a position to make a decision regarding this application; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The group was given a funding commitment by the Department in 1994 for a three year period with funding of £15,000 per annum. This funding was renewed for a further three years in 1997 and I have recently approved an increase in the annual funding from £15,000 to £30,000 with effect from 1 April 1998.
The group has also made inquiries about capital funding for construction of a new centre to replace the existing one. The Department has asked for additional information — including information about other sources of funding — to enable this application to be considered further.
