National Sports Council of Ireland Bill, 1998: First Stage.

I move:

That leave be granted to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to make provision for the promotion, co-ordination and development of sport in Ireland and for these purposes to establish a body to be known as the National Sports Council of Ireland, to define its functions and to provide for other matters connected with the matters aforesaid.

Is this Bill being opposed?

Question put and agreed to.

Since this is a Private Members' Bill, Second Stage must, under Standing Orders, be taken in Private Members' time.

I move that Second Stage of the Bill be taken in Private Members' time.

Question put and agreed to.
