Vol. 488 No. 7

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Jimmy Deenihan

Question:

181 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when suckler cow and beef cow grants will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7384/98]

The person concerned declared a forage area of 44.76 hectares on his 1997 area aid application form. However one plot of land in the townland of Stack's Mountain has not been digitised due to the unavailability of a map outlining the plot. I have arranged for a map of the townland to issue to the person concerned. When the map has been returned, with the plot duly marked, it will be digitised and the processing of the application will be finalised. Outstanding payments can then issue.

Payments have already issued to the person concerned in respect of special beef premium, £703.32; cattle headage, £2,250 and suckler cow premium, £3,028.96.

182 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when outstanding 22 month special beef premium payments will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry. [7385/98]

The application in question is the subject of a field inspection and it will be processed for payment as soon as possible.
