Vol. 488 No. 7

Written Answers. - Traveller Accommodation.

Austin Currie

Question:

290 Mr. Currie asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if approval will be given for the refurbishment of the Ballycollin halting site, Dublin 15; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7145/98]

Approval to proceed to tender was given by my Department on 9 July 1997 for the redevelopment by Fingal County Council of the existing halting site at Ballycoolin including the provision of five new group houses and a community facility. It is understood that the first advertisement for tenders was unsuccessful and accordingly was readvertised. A request for approval to the acceptance of a tender on foot of the second invitation was received in my Department on 20 March. A decision in relation to the application will issue as early as possible following detailed examination of the tender documentation.
