Vol. 488 No. 7

Written Answers. - Public Service Pensions.

Brian O'Shea

Question:

293 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if public servants at grade III or below have had pension parity restored to them; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7283/98]

The determination of pension increases for retired staff of local authorities is a matter for each local authority. Under the terms of a circular letter which issued in November last local authorities have been authorised to implement a Government decision applying increases in the pensions of public servants who retired before the commencement dates of PCW restructuring pay deals.
