Vol. 488 No. 7

Written Answers. - School Transport.

John Perry

Question:

432 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Education and Science if, further to Parliamentary Question No. 317 of 17 February 1998 in relation to free school transport, he will make a statement on the matter. [7332/98]

As previously advised, the pupils to whom the Deputy refers are not eligible for free transport under the scheme, and concessionary fare-paying transport is the most that can be offered.

A more detailed explanation of the specific terms of the scheme which apply in this case will be forwarded to the Deputy from my Department in the near future.
