Vol. 488 No. 7

Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.

Tony Gregory

Question:

444 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Education and Science if, further to his reply to Parliamentary Question No. 156 of 20 March 1997, the Office of Public Works report has been considered; and, if so, if funding will be made available during 1998 so that the work can be carried out. [7424/98]

My Department has received a report from the Office of Public Works regarding the proposed improvement works, including a new toilet block at the school referred to by the Deputy. My Department's architectural staff are currently investigating the various options available to develop the toilet facilities in the school. As soon as a decision is reached on the most appropriate course of action, my Department will be in contact with the school management.

At this stage I am not in a position to give a commitment for funding in 1998.
