Vol. 488 No. 7

Written Answers. - Third Level Fees.

Liz McManus

Question:

446 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will ensure inclusion of Portobello College, Dublin 6, in the free fees scheme for third level students in view of the fact that the college has degree courses validated by his Department in the 1998 CAO, has financial bonding in place and has all the courses sanctioned for tax relief; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7426/98]

The principal of Portobello College is party to the proceedings of Patrick Jordan, Junior, Patrick Jordan Senior and Raymond Kearns — v — the Minister for Education, Ireland and the Attorney General regarding the non-inclusion of Portobello College within the free fees initiative. As the matter will be before the courts, I am not in a position to make any further statement on the matter.
