Vol. 488 No. 7

Written Answers. - Cross-Border Advertising.

Bernard Allen

Question:

65 Mr. Allen asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if she will outline the proposed new measures to facilitate cross-Border advertising in the European Union. [7312/98]

It is not entirely clear to what the Deputy refers.

Existing and proposed regulatory measures in the area of advertising aim to protect consumers and business persons against misleading advertising and the unfair consequences thereof and lay down the condition under which comparative advertising is permitted.
