Question:

75 Mr. Stanton asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the location of the various local employment service schemes in the State; the status of each; the number and appointment of people working in each; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [7298/98]

The majority of the salary costs of the above staff are borne by the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment. However, salaries are also being met by a range of agencies as follows: Department of Social, Community and Family Affairs, the local partnership, FÁS, VEC or from URBAN funding. The table includes staff employed by community groups who are operating contact points on behalf of the LES.
All 18 of the local employment service networks are now operational. To date the LES networks have engaged with a total of just over 21,000 unemployed clients.
