Vol. 488 No. 7

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Ring

Question:

115 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive the remainder of his 1997 grant under the suckler cow scheme. [6910/98]

The person concerned declared a forage area of 22.64 hectares on his 1997 area aid application form. However, one plot of land in the townland of Knockmaria, Addergoole, has not been digitised due to the unavailability of a map outlining the plot. I have arranged for a map of the townland to issue to the person concerned. When the map has been returned, with the plot duly marked, it will be digitised and the processing of the application will be finalised. Outstanding payments can then issue.

Payments have already issued to the person concerned in respect of special beef premium, £1,027.93; cattle headage, £1,758.91 and suckler cow premium, £1,682.76.

Question:

117 Mr. Moynihan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when 1997 sheep headage will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork. [6912/98]

Without a valid area aid application for the relevant year, headage payments cannot issue to a herdowner. Since no 1997 area aid application was received from the person named, 1997 sheep headage cannot be paid.
