Vol. 489 No. 3

Written Answers. - Housing Aid for the Elderly.

Michael Ring

Question:

158 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children if an application for persons (details supplied) in County Mayo for special housing aid for the elderly will be urgently dealt with and investigated in view of the fact that their home is in a poor condition and they are in need of the assistance offered under this scheme. [7857/98]

As the Deputy is aware, the housing aid scheme for the elderly in the Mayo area is administered by the Western Health Board on behalf of the Department of the Environment and Local Government. I have asked the chief executive officer of the Western Health Board to investigate this case as a matter of urgency and respond directly to the Deputy with the board's findings.
