Vol. 489 No. 3

Written Answers. - Registration of Title.

Deirdre Clune

Question:

243 Ms Clune asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the reason a copy of an instrument (details supplied) cannot be obtained from the Land Registry Office. [8165/98]

I am informed by the registrar of titles that this application for a copy instrument was lodged on 15 October 1997. An extensive search has been carried out for this instrument in the Land Registry but I regret to inform you that it has not yet been located. A further more extensive search is being carried out in the Land Registry.

I am further informed it appears from the correspondence in the application by the registered owner that the copy instrument is being sought in relation to an application for release of a lease burden which is registered on the registered owner's folio. If that is the case, the applicant's solicitor may, in the meantime, wish to lodge an application for the release of the lease burden, and the Land Registry will facilitate that application in so far as possible.
