Vol. 489 No. 3

Written Answers. - Tax Clearance Certificates.

Michael Ring

Question:

145 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Finance whether a tax clearance certificate can be issued to persons (details supplied) in County Mayo to enable them to renew their publican's licence. [7865/98]

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that there is no record of an application for a tax clearance certificate having been received from the persons specified.

The appropriate application form can be obtained from the Collector, Customs and Excise, Custom House, Flood Street, Galway (telephone 091-567191). The completed application form should be submitted to the Office of the Collector-General (Tax Clearance Unit), Sarsfield House, Francis Street, Limerick.

To qualify for a tax clearance certificate, the applicant's tax affairs must be in order or, where tax arrears exist, a satisfactory arrangement must be in place to pay those arrears.
