Question:

137 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Education and Science the total number of staff employed at each of the institutes of technology in the academic year 1997-98; if he will give a detailed breakdown of the various categories of staff in each institute; the total payroll cost involved in each institute; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8430/98]

The information sought by the Deputy is not available in my Department. The institutes of technology were requested to furnish the data. The following tabular statement gives a breakdown of the various categories of staff, full-time and part-time, and total payroll cost for each institute which has furnished data to date. The data not yet available will be forwarded to the Deputy as soon as it is received.
