147 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will expedite the application for funds for essential repairs to Ormonde College, Ormonde Road, Kilkenny, in view of the fact that the building is a danger to the health and safety of its users as displayed by the recent fire caused by an electrical fault; and if he will make a statement on the matter. An application for funding to carry out works to the electrical system at the school in question was recently submitted to my Department's planning and building unit.

The school authority has indicated that a full health and safety report will be submitted in the near future and the question of funding for the necessary works will be considered at that time.
