Vol. 489 No. 5

Written Answers. - Light Rail Project.

Ivor Callely

Question:

71 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Public Enterprise if the consultants of the Dublin light rail system have invited interested bodies to make submissions on the project; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [8477/98]

In the terms of reference for the study to consider the option of putting the light rail underground in the city centre, the consultants were asked to consider inviting written inputs to their work by public advertisement from interested persons and bodies and to consider those inputs in so far as they were relevant to the terms of reference.

I understand that the consultants, WS Atkins, placed advertisements in the newspapers and received submissions from interested parties.
