Vol. 489 No. 6

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Jim Higgins

Question:

309 Mr. Higgins (Mayo) asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo has only been paid for ten animals even though he was told that 11 animals were accepted for payment under the ten month EU special beef premium scheme. [9173/98]

The person named applied for eleven animals under the June 1997 ten month special beef premium scheme and was paid a 90 per cent advance of £811.53 in respect of ten animals. A 90 per cent payment in respect of the remaining animal will issue within the next two weeks.

The balance of the entitlement has yet to be determined as it depends on the reduction arising from the special beef premium quota overshoot for 1997.
