The provision of the services in the centres referred to by the Deputy is a matter for the Midland Health Board.
I have inquiries made of the board and I understand that the service currently provided at Geashill, County Offaly, is an exceptional arrangement arising from a pilot project and the extension of this level of service to all areas depends on the availability of financial resources. In this context, £3 million is being provided this year for the development of services for people with physical and sensory disabilities of which £0.183 million has been allocated to the Midland Health Board. Priorities for the allocation of this funding will be decided by the board in consultation with the local co-ordinating committee for physical and sensory disability services.
