448 Mr. Higgins (Mayo) asked the Minister for Health and Children if the two to three year waiting time in respect of a person (details supplied) in County Mayo who is awaiting surgery for an eye complaint can be shortened. [9143/98]

The provision of medical treatment to persons at the Eye & Ear Hospital is the responsibility of the hospital. I have asked the Secretary-Manager of the hospital to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
