455 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo is being refused access to, and a copy of, his medical records without a written request from his general practitioner. [9213/98]

The provision of medical services in this instance is the responsibility of the Western Health Board. I have asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and reply to the Deputy directly.
