Bruton asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government whether he has agreed, in principle, to a suggestion raised by some Garda spokespersons that a points system for traffic offences would be introduced which could lead to the forfeiture of a driving licence; and, if so, if details of the scheme, or a timeframe for its introduction, have been put in place; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
