Vol. 489 No. 6

Written Answers. - Compulsory Purchase Orders.

Olivia Mitchell

Question:

521 Ms O. Mitchell asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government when he will be in a position to confirm the compulsory purchase orders for the Dundrum bypass which is awaiting his attention for nine months, a period which is as long as was required for consideration of the entire southern cross motorway scheme, in view of the near gridlock which exists in the Dundrum area; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9012/98]

I intend to determine the compulsory purchase orders referred to as soon as possible. As my role in determining the orders is of a quasi-judicial nature, it would not be appropriate to comment on any aspects of the matter at this stage.
