Vol. 489 No. 6

Written Answers. - Compulsory Purchase Orders.

Alan Shatter

Question:

527 Mr. Shatter asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the position regarding the compulsory purchase order on which he has to make a decision, application for which was made in order to facilitate the construction of a halting site for travelling families and a small housing estate on lands adjacent to the Ballyboden Road at the back of Boden Park in Dublin; and when he expects to make a decision following the public inquiry held into the matter. [9134/98]

South Dublin County Council have submitted a compulsory purchase order for the acquisition of land for the purposes of providing a halting site for travelling families and housing purposes at Ballyboden. A public local inquiry has been held into objections received against confirmation of the order. The inspector's report on the inquiry has just been completed and I will give my decision on this matter as soon as possible.
