Vol. 489 No. 6

Written Answers. - Departmental Technology.

Emmet Stagg

Question:

595 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if his Department has a free telephone number, 1890, for the convenience of the public; and, if so, the action, if any, taken to bring this service to public notice. [8730/98]

My Department has been allocated the"Lo-Call" number 1890-221227 as a result of a Government decision of 6 May 1997 that this facility should be made available to the public. This facility provides call access on a countrywide basis to my Department at local call rates.

This number has been designated as an alternative contact number for my Department and will be included in all future publications by my Department. This number is currently operational and will be advertised in all the Department's future literature, business cards, reports, etc.
